Fortnite Trash? (Hated by people and Offline play checked)

Fortnite is among the most popular and successful battle games ever, but not everyone enjoys the game. Therefore, if you enjoy playing Fortnite or you are new to it, you, may wonder why Fortnite has so many negative reviews.

So, why is Fortnite trash? Most individuals that trash Fortnite attribute this to its game design. This remark is mostly by the mature players looking forward to advance their gaming skills. Unlike other battle games where the gun skill matters, Fortnite’s gameplay is all about who can build efficiently and quickly by head glitching or height to gain an unfair advantage.

Fortnite is a popular game among teenagers and kids, but despite the big audience, it is still not a good game, according to most players. Over the years, individuals in the gaming forums, including its popular fans, are terming it trash. Therefore, why is this the case?

In addition to its building mechanics, players also consider Fortnite trash for its poor graphics and gameplay, repetitiveness, no skill requirement, payment, and inappropriateness to some groups of people. The game also lacks originality, is addictive to some players, while for others, it is boring and generally overrated.

With an approximate 1.6 million active players, Fortnite can be considered an overrated game. This is attributed to celebrity influence, with Drake rumored to play the game. The result was an increase in the Fortnite fan base, courtesy of individuals who mimic celebrity life. Other than celebrity influence, there is no other solid reason backing the high numbers. For most people, Fortnite is boring, and they prefer other battle games over it.

The game is also boring to individuals who value originality, given that Fortnite mimics PUBG gameplay. If you compare PUBG and Fortnite, you will notice similarities in the gameplay.

Such similarities forced PUBG to sue Fortnite for copying its intellectual rights. Unfortunately, they did not win this pursuit as Epic games altered some of its features and successfully escaped the lawsuit. Even then, individuals continue to praise PUBG over Fortnite for its originality.

Fortnite is a third-person shooter game, but players express that the game would be better off in the first person. Also, players who spend hours playing complain of the bugs and glitches negatively affecting the gameplay. The building mechanism is also so basic, and the playstyles are senseless, making the player clueless most of the time.

In its graphics, Fortnite ranks way lower than other mainstream games. Its cartoon faces are somehow lame, while the bullets resemble spears making the game unreal. Also, with all the fighting in the game, there is no bloodshed, but instead, the game uses hit markers.

While hit markers make the game suitable for kids by making the scenes more pleasant, this replacement makes the game unrealistic. It also does not add up how a player can stand up to ten shots and not die.

Players love challenges, thus a game that requires them to sharpen their skills now and then is good. However, this is not the case with Fortnite. With this game, all you need to do is spam, and you will be good to go.

The game disregards the gamer’s experiences, with the only experience between a new gamer and an experienced player being the player count. For instance, while an experienced player might have sixty-four counts, a new player will have two.

Also, the ranks in the game do not matter, as you can jump through them anytime you wish to. The game is also repetitive and mostly suitable for kids, since, to most adults, it is a time-waster. Given its repetitiveness, the addiction rate is also high among children affecting their social and academic life.

The game is free, and most parents will not limit their children’s time on the game. This negatively impacts the children’s mental perspective, as most copy the violence portrayed in the game.

Some players are believed to have become suicidal from the competition, while others sink into depression. For such reasons, some schools have banned this game from their promises, with violence and murder being the top reasons behind this decision.

In addition to the violence, the game is also becoming inappropriate with more advancements. For individuals who stream Fortnite on YouTube, there is a new craze called Strip Fortnite, where players have to strip a layer of clothing for the players killed.

This has led to the introduction of sexual dares and inappropriate content, easily accessible by teenagers, all in the name of views on YouTube. What’s worse is that children play this game, thus you cannot predict the situation if this trend continues.

Lastly, Fortnite is generally termed free, but as you play, you will confirm that Battle Royale is the only free Fortnite. If you want to play the original Fortnite, you will have to pay. You will also pay to customize your character or acquire cosmetic skins. Such microtransactions make gamers trash the game as they feel duped since they initially thought the game was free.

Why Does Everyone Hate Fortnite?

Despite being a popular game, some people hate Fortnite. Most of these people have a reason, while others follow the majority. To some extent, hating Fortnite is becoming a trend, thus I will explore some of the issues that have led to the negativity on online gaming platforms.

Everyone hates Fortnite due to its toxic community that comprises underage gamers and a large number of hackers and trolls. The game’s popularity exposes it to media, attracting immature teens and underage players who are ruining the game for others. You can find such click baits on YouTube and Twitch, which fuels online toxicity against the game.

Most Fortnite haters had tried the game before and had the above factors put them off, not to mention the toxic emotes from the game. When a player is beaten in a Fortnite game, they will get the “Take the L emote”, which can mess their mind, making them feel like total failures. The result is physical confrontations and enmity between friends and relatives. It is such toxicity that takes the fun of the game and makes it unhealthy for gamers.

Besides affecting gamers’ emotional and mental wellbeing, Fortnite also forces them to make quick monetary decisions, hence more reasons to hate the game. In addition to selling skin, it comes with a limited time offer, such that if you like a specific skin, you should act fast lest you miss it.

While this tactic is working for the company, most people hate and withdraw from the game by the day, as they have to choose between fun and parting with a significant amount. Surprisingly, most of the individuals who buy such items are children under thirteen years who have little knowledge of the value of money.

Fortnite also seems to change an individual’s mindset of money, time, and value. This, according to online gamers, is a selfish move given that most of its audience are children and teenagers.

Given that their brain is at a developmental stage, whatever they learn will stick for ages and could be disastrous in the future. Thus, while Epic Games aims to generate profit, like any other business, reprogramming players’ minds for selfish gain is uncalled for.

The social impact that Fortnite has on its players explains the hate. Unlike in the past, where kids could spend their summer holiday exploring fields and caves, nowadays, they are glued on their consoles playing Fortnite for hours since it is free.

The game features violence, and while it does not have bloody scenes, it is still inappropriate for kids. Also, despite being T-rated by ESRB, some underage children can access the game, exposing Epic Games’ inability to identify the age limit. The addictive nature of the game to kids affects their academics and makes the adults lose interest in the game, terming it a kiddie’s video game.

With almost every responsible parent complaining of the above issues in Fortnite, it is unfortunate that Epic Games does not seem to listen to them. This is according to popular opinion in online gaming forums.

The truth is that the edits fans demand from these game developers cannot happen overnight, but the fact that there is still more noise now and then could imply an unwillingness to comply from Epic games.

Can Fortnite Be Played Offline?

Fortnite boasts of a huge player base comprising friends and random fills. However, the general concern is whether you can play a solo mode of this game offline.

Fortnite is an online game and does not have an offline mode available. However, this does not mean that this will hold forever as Epic games could bring more improvements in the game to allow players to enjoy offline play. In the meantime, players might have to play online or hide while playing.

A player may want to play Fortnite offline for several reasons. First, if you have a broadband outage and cannot access the internet, playing offline will be the best alternative. Secondly, if you are out and about with your mobile device, loading mobile data to play Fortnite will be inefficient, which is why you need an offline mode. Lastly, the other player’s lack of internet connection will limit you to offline play, in which case, you should also be offline.

With an offline mode, players can practice against AI bots, which are one of the online game features. This practice will enable players to try new guns and explore the map without skirmishing with sweaty players.

The players will also set difficulty levels of the AI bots and sharpen their skills before connecting online with experienced players. An offline mode will also enable players to enjoy a stable connection during LAN tournaments and events. Since a lower ping gives you an advantage over your enemies, you will enjoy a stable and level field, especially with money on the line.

Players also speculate that with an offline mode available, Epic games could develop it and avail it on modes like the Limited Time game and Creative mode, increasing its player base.

The player base could also increase drastically since many gamers cannot afford a constant connection to play the game. I can only hope that Epic Games acts on this request as soon as possible for players to enjoy Fortnite in offline mode.

In the meantime, you can appear offline by hiding yourself while playing. To do this, open your Fortnite home page and select the Settings icon from the three horizontal icons. You should also select the Gear icon and click on the online status option.

If you are using PS4, you will press the triangle option and Y button if you are an Xbox user. Next, select away, then use the party privacy mode option under the profile to private mode.

Lastly, turn off notify friends to maintain your privacy, and you are good to go. Hiding while playing saves you from disturbances, as no one can contact you. These contacts include your friends, who will not be able to see your online status.

Whether online or offline, you can utilize platforms like PC, Mac, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and some Android mobile devices to play Fortnite. The game also supports cross-platform play, thus you do not have to worry if your friend or a family member has a different console.

Lastly, if you do not have an internet connection and want to play offline, consider other game alternatives such as Minecraft and Assassin Creed.

Wrap Up

Fortnite is a popular game but continues to receive negative backlash from its fans and other online gamers. This is attributed to the game’s originality, addictiveness, inappropriateness, programming, and duping individuals. However, most players do not know of such features until they start playing the game.

Over time, this game continues to gain popularity among children and teens. While this serves the developers right in terms of profitability, its negative influence on these young ones is wanting and explains most of the protests online.

For instance, the game is addictive and has violent and unsuitable content such as strip craze, which has a lasting effect on society. Its impact on how players view money and time is also a matter of concern that gamers in online forums vent over and hope that Epic games will act upon.
