Citrix XenDesktop App Edition was terminology used in version 7.5 of XenDesktop to describe XenApp functionality. What had previously been a separate product (XenApp 6.5 in the previous version) was incorporated into a single product called XenDesktop. With the ‘App Edition’ describing a XenDesktop edition capable of providing XenApp functionality, providing the ability to publish desktops and applications from a shared server.
Flexcast Management Architecture
The XenApp functionality in the XenDesktop App Edition incorporated a change in architecture from the previous Independent Management Architecture (IMA) used in previous versions of XenApp to a Flexcast Management Architecture (FMA).
